Jimmie Pacifico
VANDALIA, OHIO > Track and Field
Jimmie, a senior at Vandalia Butler High, put the shot a personal-best of 69'3" to win the event at the Miami Valley Track Club all-comers meet. He also won the 17--18 age division in discus and shot put at the U.S. Track and Field Federation youth championships at North Carolina AT&T State University in Greensboro.
Brian Murray
HILLSDALE, N.J. > LACROSSE
Murray, a senior attack at Manhattan College and member of Team Ireland, scored a team-high 18 goals over seven games to give Ireland a 5--2 victory and a division championship at the world games in London, Ont. He also led the Jaspers with 17 goals last spring.
Lindsay Meyer
SEATTLE > Rowing
Lindsay, a senior at Holy Names Academy, became the first U.S. woman ever to win a sculling medal at the Junior World Rowing Championships when she took the bronze in junior women's single sculls. In July she won gold medals in intermediate and senior single sculls, and a silver in the elite/open division at the U.S. Rowing National Championships.
Jenny Lewis
PITTSFORD, N.Y. > Swimming
Jenny, a junior at Pittsford Sutherland High, broke a 21-year-old record to win an Open Division of the 100-meter backstroke (1:05.33) at the Empire State Games in Rochester. She also took gold in the 200-meter backstroke and was a member of the winning 400-meter medley relay team.
Hannah Carson
MESA, ARIZ. > Track and Field
Hannah, an eighth-grader at Rhodes Junior High, broke the age-group record (youth division, 13- to 14-year-olds) in the javelin with a throw of 144'113/4" at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. She also won a silver medal in the discus and a bronze medal in the shot put.
Ryan Knarr
ROBESONIA, PA. > Tennis
Knarr, a recent graduate of Conrad Weiser High, won a record total of three gold and two silver medals at Pennsylvania's Keystone State Games in York. He won the boys' 18s singles, 18s doubles and mixed open doubles, and placed second in 18s mixed doubles and men's open doubles.
