When the PGA fieldwas first announced, Billy Andrade (below) was the seventh alternate. He wasstill third on the list on the Tuesday of tournament week when he went to seeYou, Me and Dupree. "When I came out [of the theater], I was in thetournament," said Andrade, who made the most of it by opening with roundsof 67 and 69 to tie for the lead. "I'm 42 years old, and I've been doingthis for 19 years," he said. "Why not have fun and enjoy it?"Reality hit on Saturday, when he shot a six-over 78. He wound up as only thethird-best alternate, finishing 41st. Here's how the alternates who made itinto the field (in order of selection) fared.

Joey Sindelarholed a 241-yard three-wood shot for a double eagle, the rarest shot in golf,on the par-5 5th hole in the third round.... Olin Browne aced the 191-yard 17thhole on the fly with a six-iron in the opening round.... Playing in his firstPGA, Andres Romero (right), 25, of Argentina, had an early tee time on Thursdayand got up at 5 a.m. "The good thing was, I was able to eat breakfast,"he said, "but when I saw Tiger and realized I was really here, I had tohang on to it." Romero shot 71-77 and missed the cut.
