Lauren, aneighth-grader at Riverview Middle School and a righthanded pitcher for theKaukauna Ghosts, had seven straight wins, including 7--1 and 8--4 victoriesover the previously unbeaten Fort Wayne (Ind.) Fire, to win the NationalSoftball Association's Class B 12-and-under Super World Series in Peoria,Ill.

Winterbottom, 46,a diving instructor at Highlands Recreation Center and a physical-educationteacher at Bowditch Middle School, won the women's (45--49 age group)three-meter springboard event with a world-record score of 256.40 at the FINAWorld Master's Diving Championships at Stanford University.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS> Soccer

Cruz, a freshmandefender at SMU, scored both game-winning goals in a pair of 1--0 victoriesover Wisconsin and Wisconsin-Milwaukee to give the Mustangs the GoldenHurricane Classic title. He was named MVP of his first collegiate tournamentand was Soccer America men's player of the week.

STEPHENS, PA.> Field Hockey

Ueberroth, afreshman midfielder at Old Dominion, came off the bench and scored the finalgoal in a 3--1 win over Penn State, then followed that performance with a goaland an assist in the Lady Monarchs' 6--1 victory over Ohio. She was named theColonial Athletic Association rookie of the week.

DAYTONA BEACH> Baseball

Breslin, a seniorfirst baseman at Belmont Abbey College, was the most valuable player for theOrlando Shockers of the Florida Collegiate Summer Baseball League. He had a.319 batting average, with 14 runs scored and 19 RBIs. Defensively he made 139putouts and had a .993 fielding percentage.
