1 HOOVER (Ala.)The Bucs improved to 3-0 by beating Carver (Ala.) 45-12 last Friday. Seniorquarterback Ross Wilson threw three touchdown passes, and sophomore runningback Jemeriz Owens had a 17-yard rushing TD and an 85-yard kickoff return foranother score. Hoover travels to rival Spain Park (Ala.) on Friday.

2 LAKELAND (Fla.)On the strength of senior running back Chris Rainey's 126 rushing yards, theDreadnaughts (3-0) drubbed Winter Haven (Fla.) 34-7 last Saturday. Next up: No.10 St. Xavier of Cincinnati on Saturday (box, below left).

3 OAKS CHRISTIAN(Westlake Village, Calif.) The Lions (2-0) routed Muir (Calif.) 60-6 lastFriday as senior quarterback Jimmy Clausen completed 7 of 8 passes for 275yards and four touchdowns. Senior running back-linebacker Marc Tyler ran fortwo TDs and returned a fumble for another. After a bye week, Oaks Christianvisits ninth-ranked St. Bonaventure, of Ventura, Calif., on Sept. 22.

4 WARREN CENTRAL(Indianapolis) With a whopping 523 yards on the ground, the Warriors (4-0)crushed Ben Davis of Indianapolis 76-7. Senior running back Darren Evans (sixTDs) led the attack. Warren Central is at North Central of Indianapolis onFriday.

5 CARROLL(Southlake, Texas) The Dragons (1-0) opened with a 49-13 win over LakeHighlands of Dallas, their 33rd consecutive victory and 64th in 65 games.Carroll hosts Evangel Christian, of Shreveport, La., on Thursday.
