Who's Hot
Bears
Rex may soundlike a dog--but he doesn't play like one. QB Grossman (right) had a four-TD daythat helped Chicago (2-0) dominate the Lions (and WR Roy Williams, who'dguaranteed a win). TE Desmond Clark to Chicago's Daily Herald: "We have agood shot to win every game."
Vince Young
Sure, he's stilllearning, but the lame Titans march when Young's at the helm--he capped a drivewith his first TD pass on Sunday--and rumors fly that Tennessee will deal hisrival, Billy Volek. Plus, the reality show Next Level: Vince Young begins nextmonth on BET.
San Diego
Fun in the sun!The Chargers, led by sackmaster Shawne Merriman (nickname: Lights Out!), are2-0. The Padres, winners of 10 of 14 through Sunday, are closing in on aplayoff berth.
Rocks
The Redskins'Rock Cartwright returned a kickoff 100 yards for a TD, while Gridiron Gang, amovie about a football team made up of young hoodlums (no, not the Bengals) andstarring The Rock (right), debuted at No. 1.
Who's Not
Browns
Before lastSunday's game with rival Cincy, coach Romeo Crennel called his team"lowly." He knows his personnel. Three turnovers (all by QB CharlieFrye, above) and inept defense led to a shellacking. Observed tackle RyanTucker of 0-2 Cleveland, "We've got a long way to go."
Michelle Wie
Not so sweet 16:The PGA Tour wannabe missed another cut at a men's event and came in last forthe second time in two weeks. Said Wie after finishing 23 strokes off the lead,"I'm really enjoying competing with the guys."
Tampa Bay
No fun in thesun. The Buccaneers, struggling under QB Chris Simms, have yet to get into theend zone. A Devil Rays swoon (seven straight losses through Sunday) made thembaseball's worst team.
Boulders
One would be49ers guard Larry Allen (right). The strongest man in football (ask anyone) gotfined for failing to get down to 325 pounds (he's 6'3"). Now he's sidelinedwith a sprained knee. In Boulder, Colo., the Buffaloes are 0-3.
