The Questions with Pete Weber

Pro Bowler

What was yourwelcome to pro bowling moment?

Qualifying forthe last tournament in 1979. I won the qualifier, so I also got an exemptionfor the next year's first tournament. I was 17, but guys didn't dare give me ahard time because of Dad [bowling great Dick Weber]. They were awful nice tome.

Most embarrassingmoment?

After I won the1991 U.S. Open, I went to lift the trophy over my head. The eagle toppled downand busted into a million pieces. People came up and grabbed pieces to takehome.

One thing aboutpro bowling fans don't think about?

We havesuperstitions. Mine is that neither my wife nor I can wear red during atelevised match. Unless it's for a "one" title--my first title I waswearing red, 11th title was in red, 21st in red.

If I weren't apro bowler, I'd be ...

dead! No, I'd saya pro wrestler, but at 5'7" I'm not big enough. So something in publicrelations.
