Morenike Atunrase
SHREVEPORT, LA. > Basketball
Atunrase, a junior forward at Texas A&M, shot 8 of 14 from the field and had 22 points (the sixth straight game in which she scored in double figures) to lead the Aggies to a 77--52 win over Loyola Marymount in the final of the LMU Ayres Hotel Thanksgiving Classic. She was named tournament MVP.

Marcus Taylor
SILVER SPRING, MD. > Football
Taylor, a senior linebacker at Fordham, was named Patriot League defensive player of the year after leading the Rams with 116 tackles (53 solo) and three interceptions and was second on the team with four sacks. He also forced and recovered four fumbles, one of which he returned for a 43-yard touchdown.

Frankie Lopez
McMINNVILLE, ORE. > Soccer
Frankie, a senior forward at McMinnville High, scored two goals to send the game into overtime and added two more goals to lead the Grizzlies to a 6--2 win over South Salem. The victory earned the team its first trip to the Oregon School Activities Association 6A finals, at which it won the title. He was named Pacific Conference MVP.

Abby Jones
LAWRENCE, KANS. > Gymnastics
Abby, a senior at Lawrence High, won all four events in the all-around (vault, bar, beam and floor exercise), scoring a state-record 38.4 points as she lead the Lions to their third consecutive all-class Kansas gymnastics title. She won the all-around at every competition this season.

Kristin Nottelmann
FENTON, MO. > Softball
Kristin, a junior righthanded pitcher at Rockwood Summit High, led the Falcons to the state Class 4 championship and was named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch player of the year. She went 22--0 for the season with an 0.51 ERA and 288 strikeouts. She also batted .472 with three home runs and 30 RBIs.

Stephen Schranck
ALTON, ILL. > Swimming
Schranck, a sophomore at Carthage College, won the 200-yard breaststroke in a pool-record time of 2:09.46, and also won the 400-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle, at the Wabash College Invitational. In his fourth event, the 100 yard breaststroke, he finished second.
