THE QUESTIONS WITH Simon Gagné
What was yourwelcome-to-the-NHL moment?
My first preseason game in Washington [in 1999]. The first shift I was next to[6'3", 220-pound enforcer] Chris Simon. That big guy next to me. I rememberthat more than my first real NHL game.
What was yourmost embarrassing moment?
Dislocating my shoulder my second year. I got into a fight behind the net with[Tampa Bay's] Andrei Zyuzin. I tried to get him with some punches, and myshoulder went out. When I think about it now, that was pretty funny.
If I werecommissioner for a day I would ...
have a private [meeting] with the referees about not being influenced by whatteams are playing, who is on the ice, what general manager is watching, wherethe game is.
If I weren'tplaying hockey, I'd ...
My father was a policeman [in Quebec]. I grew up with that, [so] that'ssomething I would maybe try to do.
