THE QUESTIONS WITH Chris Chelios
What was your welcome-to-the-NHL moment?
My first shift on the ice [with the Canadiens in 1983!], with Larry Robinson and Guy LaFleur on the bench. I wasn't on the ice for 10 seconds, and [Hartford] scored against me. I came back to the bench, and everybody was laughing at me.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
In Buffalo [in 1983] after warmups I left the rink through the Zamboni doors. I ended up getting into a fight with the Zamboni driver because I went the wrong way.
Favorite off-day activity?
Fishing.
If I were commissioner for a day, I'd ...
cut ticket prices.
One thing about being in the NHL that fans don't think about?
That we're just like anybody else when it comes to families and kids. We're ordinary people.
LAST WEEK
