THE QUESTIONS WITH Nook Logan
What was your welcome-to-the-big-leagues moment?
When the Tigers called me up [in '04]. It was three in the afternoon. I had to get from Toledo [home of the Triple A Mud Hens] for a night game. Detroit's 45 minutes from Toledo, but when I got in my car, the battery was dead. I got a jump off a police officer. I got there late, but they put a uniform on me and asked if I wanted to take BP. [He later got a bunt single his first time up.]
What was your most embarrassing moment?
In 2005 I had to dress up in a Playboy bunny outfit and walk six blocks to our hotel in downtown Minneapolis. I started having fun, flirting with people at the bus stop.
If I were commissioner for a day, I'd ...
have one day where kids could come out to ball games [for free].
If I weren't playing baseball, I'd ...
be playing hoops. I played in high school [Natchez, Miss.], and I was good—I played the one and the two.
LAST WEEK
Logan, who had 23 steals for the Tigers in '05, went 1 for 1 before leaving with a foot injury against Florida in the Nats' opener.
THIS WEEK
Washington plays the Braves against whom Logan hit .333 last season.
