Week Ahead
THURSDAY 4/5
The Masters
No Aussie has ever won the green jacket (thank Greg Norman for that), but the drought could end this year. Five of the top 25 players in the world are from Down Under, including Aaron Baddeley (above). The 26-year-old won the FBR Open in February and is sixth in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings. Thursday and Friday USA 4 p.m.; Saturday CBS 3:30 p.m; Sunday CBS 2:30 p.m.
FRIDAY 4/6
Suns at Hornets
Center Tyson Chandler (right) has almost single-handedly kept the Hornets in the Western Conference playoff race. He's averaged 14.9 points and 12.4 rebounds in his last seven games—and the Hornets have won four of them to pull within three games of the eighth-place Nuggets. Check listings 8 p.m.
SATURDAY 4/7
Peter Manfredo Jr. vs. Joe Calzaghe
Former Contender star Manfredo (26--3) gets his first crack at a major title when he travels to Cardiff to challenge Calzaghe (42--0) for the WBO super middleweight crown right in the Welshman's backyard. (It's Calzaghe's 20th title defense.) Manfredo isn't going alone: Contender cohost Sugar Ray Leonard will be his strategist. HBO 5 p.m.
Nike Hoop Summit
The top high schoolers in the U.S. take on an international all-star team of players 19 and under in Memphis. The Yanks' roster includes USC's celebrated recruit O.J. Mayo, but two of the most intriguing players will be on the World Select team: guard Chen Jianghua of China and French power forward Alexis Ajinca, whom some scouts compare to Kevin Garnett. Fox Sports Network 4 p.m.
TUESDAY 4/10
On DVD: Major League: Wild Thing Edition
Before the Indians won the AL Central in 1995, their only division title had come on the big screen in 1989, when Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen (left) and a slimmer Dennis Haysbert led the celluloid Tribe to an unlikely postseason appearance. This special edition DVD includes a tribute to play by-play man Bob ("Juuuuuust a bit outside") Uecker as well as an alternate ending.
SI PICK OF THE WEEK
THURSDAY 4/5
Four of a Kind
It wasn't the best year to be a favorite in college hockey. For the first time since the NCAA went to the four-region format, the Frozen Four won't have a top seed. Maine, Michigan State and North Dakota are all No. 3's while Boston College is a No. 2. The Eagles, who face the Fighting Sioux in one semifinal in St. Louis, have won 12 straight behind the nation's hottest goaltender, Cory Schneider (above), named Most Outstanding Player in the Northeast Regional. The other semi features Maine, making its third Frozen Four appearance in four years, against the Spartans. Semifinals Thursday ESPN 4 p.m.; Final Saturday ESPN 7 p.m.
