THE QUESTIONS WITH Lindsey Hunter
What was your welcome-to-the-NBA moment?
My first week of practice [in 1995, with the Pistons] there was a fight. I wasn't in it, but I was like, So this is the NBA.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
My mom sent me to school wearing pants that were too short.
What's your favorite off-day activity?
Barbecuing. I'm always on the grill. I do mostly beef, and I don't do pork.
One thing about being in the NBA that people don't think about.
How hard the travel is, even though we have our own plane.
If I were commissioner for a day, I'd... change the dress code because when [former Jazz point guard] John Stockton played, he looked like he was going to go cut some wood. I wouldn't let guys wear jewelry, but I would get rid of the code.
If I weren't playing basketball, I'd... be a teacher and coach.
LAST WEEK
The 6'2", 195 pound Hunter had seven points off the bench to help beat the Bulls 95--85 and win the second-round series.
THIS WEEK
Detroit is playing in its fifth straight Eastern Conference finals, against Cleveland.
