Kubica suffered a slight concussion and a sprainedright ankle; Lewis Hamilton took the checkered flag for Team McLaren, becomingthe first black driver to win an F/1 race (page 62).

Shawn Bunch put Zach Roberson in an uncomfortable position en route to avictory in the semifinals of the 60-kg class at the U.S. wrestling World TeamTrials last Saturday in Las Vegas. Roberson won the match but failed to qualifyfor the worlds in Azerbaijan in September, losing to Mike Zadick in thefinal.

Diamondbacks second baseman Orlando Hudson got the response he wanted from homeplate umpire Mike Reilly, who called Hudson safe following a rundown in whichRed Sox catcher Jason Varitek dropped the ball. Arizona lost the game 10--3last Friday night in Phoenix but split the next two against Boston and atweek's end was tied with San Diego atop the NL West.
