Leading Off

Not Having a Ball
After Jaguars defensive end James Wyche (90) got a grip on Trent Green last Saturday, the Dolphins quarterback lost his. It was a rough start for the newly acquired Green, who completed six of 15 passes for 60 yards, threw an interception and gave away this possession, but the Dolphins won their preseason opener 18--17 in Miami.

Juan a Piece of Me?
After a collision on the 73rd Lap at Watkins Glen, NASCAR rookie Juan Pablo Montoya (left) exchanged shoves and words with Kevin Harvick, who had initiated the fight during the Nextel Cup race on Sunday. Harvick later learned that Montoya (42) hadn't caused the accident (page 134).

Tiger's Red Glare
The gallery around the first green at Southern Hills in Tulsa got a close look at the intensity of the PGA Championship leader, Tiger Woods, on Sunday. True to form, Woods turned a 54-hole lead into another major victory, the 13th of his career (page 54).
