Taylor, a senior at Boulder High, is the first American to win a UCI Junior Road and Track World Championship in the men's time trial, finishing the 28-kilometer course in 37:28:01. He also won the Tour de l'Abitibi, a major stage race in Quebec.

Brooks, a graduate of Holy Names Academy, won her fourth Class 3A 100-meter hurdles title and was named Seattle's female high school athlete of the year. Now a freshman at New Mexico State, she was undefeated for her career in the event.

Aubrey, a homeschooled high school junior, was the lone triple gold medalist at the USA Junior Olympic national championships. She won the under-14 singles (defeating Devon Pimentelli 15--0, 15--2 in the final) as well as the doubles and under-16 mixed doubles.

Chidozie Oparanozie
WHEELING, W.VA. > Football
Chidozie, a senior running back at the Linsly School, scored seven touchdowns to lead the Cadets to a 60--54 win over Richmond Heights in double overtime. He rushed 24 times for 140 yards and four TDs, caught five passes for 159 yards and two TDs, and made three interceptions, returning one for a TD.

ARLINGTON, VA. > Baseball
Danny, a senior righthander at Yorktown High, earned the win and the save in a 9--6 southeast regional game for his Arlington Senior Babe Ruth all-star team, pitching the first five innings and returning to the mound to strike out the final batter. He was also 4 for 4 at the plate and had the game-winning RBI.
Kathleen Hersey
ATLANTA > Swimming
Kathleen, a senior at Marist High, won gold medals, and set meet records, at the Pan American Games in the 100-meter butterfly (59.21), 200 fly (2:07.64) and 400 medley relay (4:04.60), and also won the 400 individual medley. She won the 200 butterfly at the U.S. national championships.
