Sit 'Em
QUARTERBACK
MATT HASSELBECK
Seahawks AT Steelers
Yes, he passed for 281 yards and two TDs against the 49ers--who have a soft pass defense. Pittsburgh's D hasn't allowed a quarterback more than 225 yards and a TD in any game this year and has allowed just one 300-yard passing effort in the last 16 games at Heinz Field.
Marc Bulger
Rams vs. Cardinals
He has two broken ribs. Nearly every member of the offensive line is on the injury report. Steven Jackson is hurting. All this is dragging down the value of the normally reliable fantasy scorer. Seek a long-term alternative.
RUNNING BACK
Larry Johnson
Chiefs vs. Jaguars
Every rule has its exception--even "Don't sit LJ." This year's model won't come close to last year's three-TD performance against the Jags.
Brian Leonard
Rams vs. Cardinals
Last week's popular waiver pickup was also its biggest disappointment; he had 59 total yards and no TDs for floundering St. Louis.
Tatum Bell
Lions at Redskins
His stock drops with the reemergence of Kevin Jones, who has two TDs in his two weeks back from injury.
TIGHT END
Desmond Clark
Bears at Packers
He had seven catches and a TD against Detroit, but don't jump on the Clark Express just yet. Brian Griese, if he's still the QB, will be bolder about throwing downfield. Also, Clark has a crummy history against Green Bay, with two 0-fers in his last three games, and no TDs. Ever.
WIDE RECEIVER
Braylon Edwards
Browns at Patriots
In his breakout season Edwards has scored four touchdowns in the last three games--the kind of trend that the Patriots identify and find a way to stop.
Vincent Jackson
Chargers at Broncos
One reason San Diego is struggling is that Philip Rivers rarely gets Jackson the ball in big spots. Of course, when Rivers does, Jackson invariably drops it.
Dwayne Bowe
Chiefs vs. Jaguars
The rookie has TDs in three straight starts, but he'll be blanketed by All-Pro corner Rashean Mathis, who hasn't given up a TD reception this year.
KICKER
Mason Crosby
Packers vs. Bears
Reason enough to sit the Green Bay rookie: The Bears have already gotten their paws on four field goal attempts and deflected an extra point.
DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS
Texans vs. Dolphins
When a defense goes without an interception against Joey Harrington, it's time to reevaluate. Wait until Houston's offense recovers--and chews more clock--before trusting its D.
