Game 2 in each AL first-round series is scheduled for today, with the wild-card Yankees visiting the AL Central champion Indians in one series and the West and East winners, the Angels and the Red Sox, meeting in Boston in the other. It wouldn't feel like October without the Yankees, but one New Yorker is surprised he won't be watching on TV. "I had my doubts," said Alex Rodriguez (left). "I didn't think we would be here, honestly."

The Petit Le Mans
Think your job is a road to nowhere? The drivers of this endurance race will circle a 2.54-mile track up to 394 times in 10 hours. Whoever wins in Braselton, Ga., qualifies for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France next June—a chance to drive an 8.5-mile circle while the Earth makes a full rotation.

No. 9 Florida at No. 1 LSU
To keep hope of defending their national title alive after losing to Auburn, the Gators must knock off the new No. 1 team. Florida QB Tim Tebow should prepare to be pressured: LSU leads the SEC with 18 sacks. Defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey (left) and safety Danny McCray lead the Tigers with three each and are big reasons LSU has held opponents to the lowest completion percentage (41.1%) in the SEC.

The Peglegs of Stuyvesant High
The Peglegs don't hear ordinary heckling from rival fans ("Go do your homework!" is one popular chant), but they aren't your ordinary high school football team. This heartwarming documentary follows the 2006 season at New York City's Stuyvesant High, one of the country's most academically rigorous public schools. The Peglegs went 5--5 in '06—a banner season at a school where students are recruited for their brains, not their size or speed.

Seahawks at Steelers
Earlier this season Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said he would keep giving the ball to running back Willie Parker (above) "until the wheels fall off." They might have on Sunday, when Parker, who entered the game leading the NFL with 368 yards, was held to 37 yards on 19 carries in a 21--14 loss to the Cardinals, ending his streak of four consecutive 100-yard games. Parker might not find many holes against the suddenly stout Seattle defense, which held the 49ers to only 184 yards and had six sacks in a 23--3 win on Sunday. The winner of this game goes to 4--1 and becomes an early favorite in its division.
