WHO'S Hot / WHO'S Not

WHO'S Hot

Redskins
Washington is healthy, and hardy—allowing an average of 13 points a game. Rightend Andre Carter (above) is mauling QBs (seven sacks in his last seven games),and here's an even better number: The team's 3--1. Said left end PhillipDaniels, "We can do some good things."

Aaron Ross
The Giants' rookie cornerback got benched for the entire first half on Sunday(he violated unspecified team rules) but then grabbed two interceptions, including the game-sealer, in a 35--24 win over the Jets. Said Ross of beingpunished, "I feel like I responded real well."

Four Drews
Brothers J.D. (Red Sox) and Stephen (Diamondbacks) Drew are deep in theplayoffs; Jaguars' back Maurice Jones-Drew broke off a 52-yard TD run and, Comeon down! Drew Carey starts hosting The Price is Right next week.

Dany Heatley
Nice sequence: The Senators' winger got a six-year, $45 million deal, scored inOT to beat archrival Toronto and racked up seven points as Ottawa started4--0.

WHO'S Not

Rams
They're hurting (seven players sat out on Sunday), and they're porous, allowingan average of 27 points a game. St. Louis has blown three third-quarter leads, and here's the ugliest number: The team's 0--5. Said QB Gus Frerotte (above),"It's just one of those years."

Larry Johnson
The Chiefs' back missed most of the preseason (holdout), got a fat contract($45 million, six years) and now can't get rolling. After a 12-yard gameagainst Jacksonville he's averaging 3.3 yards a carry with, count 'em, zeroTDs. No wonder he bolted from reporters on Sunday.

Two Reggies
Outfielder Reggie Willits went hitless in four at bats as the Angels were sweptfrom the playoffs, while Saints running back Reggie Bush (two fumbles, twotouchdowns this season) knows just what it's like to go winless.

Tomas Vokoun
The Panthers' new, trumpeted goalie let in nine goals in two season-openinglosses and was hearing boos. He "needs to be better," said coachJacques Martin.
