Instant Impact

The 10 freshmen who will immediately make their mark

TERRELLE PRYOR, QB, Undecided—By scoring 36 TDs and throwing for 23 more last fall, Pryor scored nearly once every four times he touched the ball for Jeannette (Pa.).

JULIO JONES, WR, Alabama—The 6'4", 210-pound Alabama Mr. Football (right) from Foley High is the crown jewel of Nick Saban's top recruiting class.

DARRELL SCOTT, RB, Colorado—The St. Bonaventure (Ventura, Calif.) star, who ran for 2,433 yards and 33 TDs in 2007, will play a major role in rebuilding the Buffs.

A.J. GREEN, WR, Georgia—The lanky Summerville (S.C.) speedster finished his high school career at No. 2 on the alltime national list with 5,373 receiving yards.

PATRICK JOHNSON, CB, LSU—The one-time Miami commitment from Ely (Pompano Beach, Fla.) is a fast (4.47 in the 40), physical (6'1", 197) shutdown corner.

JERMIE CALHOUN, RB, Oklahoma—Next great East Texas back follows Adrian Peterson and Billy Sims to OU; in '07 he ran, caught or threw for 2,800 yards and 36 TDs at Van.

KYLE RUDOLPH, TE, Notre Dame—Five-star prospect from Elder (Cincinnati) is 6'7", 235 and can make the big play: He averaged 18.2 yards on 37 catches with 11 TDs last fall.

RAHIM MOORE, S, UCLA—The early commitment from Dorsey (Los Angeles) stuck with the Bruins through the coaching change; he's a playmaker with 21 picks in three years.

AARON WILLIAMS, CB, Texas—The 6'1" corner with 4.4 speed had 10 sacks and three interceptions for McNeil (Round Rock, Texas) in '07; he'll help a weak Longhorns secondary.

NICK PERRY, DE, USC—Versatile King (Detroit) star played as many as nine defensive positions and set the Michigan record with 36 sacks last fall.
