Haley, an eighth-grader at Madison Ridgeland Academy, won the long jump at theMississippi Private School Association's Class AAA high school championshipmeet, breaking the class record with a leap of 18'1/4". She also finishedsecond in the 200 meters, with a time of 26.55.

Kyle, a senior catcher at Patriot High and a first-round draft pick of theFlorida Marlins, set a state record with hits in 18 consecutive at bats; hereached base safely in 25 straight plate appearances. In 30 games he hit .543with 13 home runs, 47 RBIs and 51 runs scored; he had an on-base percentage of.627.

Ryann Krais
METHACTON, PA. > Track and Field
Ryann, a senior at Methacton High, ran the nation's fastest time in the400-meter hurdles (58.96) this season and defended her title at the PennRelays. At the Class AAA meet she won the 300 hurdles (for the fourth time),the long jump (her third time) and the high jump.

EUGENE, ORE. > Softball
Kayla, a junior shortstop at Marist Catholic High, has extended her nationalhigh school hitting-streak record to 73 games, the last of which was theSpartans Class 4A championship victory; the previous mark was 46. She batted.645, with 65 runs scored, a .740 on-base percentage and 28 steals in as manyattempts.

Chris Agorsor
SEVERN, MD. > Soccer
Chris, a senior forward at McDonogh School, was named Gatorade's nationalplayer of the year. He scored 24 goals and had eight assists in 15 games thisseason, and finished his high school career with 55 goals and 22 assists. Amember of the U.S. under-20 national team, he will play at Virginia nextfall.

Nathan Adrian
BREMERTON, WASH. > Swimming
Adrian, a sophomore at Berkeley, won the 50-meter freestyle (22.01) at theMutual of Omaha Swimvitational. He also won two gold medals at the FINAshort-course world championships, in the 100 free (a meet-record 46.67) and aspart of the world-record-setting 4√ó100 freestyle relay (3:08.44).
