PARKER, COLO. > FOOTBALL
Christian, a seventh-grader at St. Thomas More Parish School and a running back on the Parker Hawks youth team, was named the West's MVP after its 24--14 win over the East in the first FBU Youth All-American Bowl for middle schoolers. He rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Gina Mancuso
PAPILLION, NEB. > VOLLEYBALL
Gina, a senior outside hitter at Papillion--La Vista High, is the Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year. Her 721 kills and 373 digs led the Monarchs to a 42--1 record and their second straight Class A state championship. She is a member of the U.S. Junior National Volleyball Team.

EAST HELENA, MONT. > WRESTLING
Toby, a senior at Helena High, was 19--0 at week's end and ranked among the nation's top 10 in the 285-pound class by three wrestling magazines. Last year he won the state Class AA heavyweight title, finishing 33--1 with 25 pins—17 of which took less than 60 seconds.

Brittany Ryan
EASTON, PA. > FOOTBALL
Ryan, a sophomore placekicker at Lebanon Valley College, completed her second season with 36 points (three field goals, 27 extra points), becoming the alltime leader in Division III for single-season and career points (44) by a woman. She's the third female kicker to make a field goal in an NCAA game.

Ruben Sanca
BOSTON > CROSS-COUNTRY
Sanca, a senior at UMass--Lowell, was named athlete of the year in the Northeast-10 and the NCAA Division II East Region after winning individual cross-country titles at both levels. He ran the NE-10's five-mile course in 24:33.0, then led the River Hawks to the regional crown with a 30:30.6 over the 10K track.

Noelle Tarazona
CLAREMONT, CALIF. > SWIMMING
Noelle, a sophomore at Claremont High, swam the 200-yard butterfly in 1:57.23 at a regional club meet, breaking the Southern California record—previously held by four-time Olympic medalist Kaitlin Sandeno—by .3 of a second. Noelle is a member of the USA Swimming National Junior Team.
