Seth Davis's Three-Pointer

1 UConn's title hopes have suffered a major blow. The Huskies became the No. 1 team because of their defense and toughness, but they'll be less potent without their best perimeter defender, junior guard Jerome Dyson, who is out indefinitely after tearing his right lateral meniscus.

2 The Mountain West Conference is headed for a bid bonanza. The league has never gotten more than three teams into the NCAA tournament, but four of its teams (Utah, BYU, San Diego State and UNLV) are ranked in the top 55 of the RPI.

3 Arizona State must keep spreading the ball around. The Sun Devils tend to rely on James Harden (above), but they only needed him to take eight shots to beat UCLA.
