Skylar Webb

Skylar, a 6'2" senior point guard at Tok High, scored 74 of his team's 82 points in an overtime loss to F.H. Collins. His point total, a single-game state record, came on 24 field goals, including four three-pointers, and 22-for-24 shooting at the foul line. Webb was averaging 38.4 points a game at week's end.
Murielle Ahoure
BRISTOW, VA. > Track and Field
Ahoure, a senior at Miami, won the 60-meter dash in 7.17 seconds at the University of Kentucky Invitational, a school record and the second-fastest time in the world this year. A transfer from George Mason making her debut for the Hurricanes, she beat the old Miami record by .05 of a second.

Brandyn Curry
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. > Basketball
Brandyn, a senior at Hopewell High, was named MECA-7 conference player of the year by The Charlotte Observer after leading the Titans to a 26--0 season and the Class 4A state title. The Harvard-bound point guard averaged 13.5 points and 5.6 assists per game.

Alana Hadley
CHARLOTTE > Cross-country
Alana, a sixth-grader at Community House Middle School, was the first of 554 female runners to finish the Cupid's Cup 5K and placed fifth in the total field of 1,191 for the open race. The 12-year-old, who had a time of 17:32 (a 5:39-per-mile pace), has been running competitively since the age of six.
John Creech
DAYTON > Swimming
Creech, a junior at Wilmington College, won the 200-yard butterfly at the Ohio Athletic Conference championships for the third straight year. His time of 1:55.23 beat his school record by 0.69 and the runner-up's time by nearly four seconds. He is the first Wilmington swimmer to win an OAC event three times.
Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux
GRAND FORKS, N.D. > Ice Hockey
Twins Monique and Jocelyne, freshman forwards at Minnesota, are ranked first and fourth in the nation in scoring with 71 and 61 points, respectively. They led the Gophers (30-3-3) to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season title.
