Caitlin, a sophomore at Notre Dame High in Belmont, pitched a two-hit shutout in the first game of a preseason tournament; then, as the designated hitter in the second game, she went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, a double and five RBIs. In the four tournament games total, she hit .600 with 10 RBIs.
Fabrizio Scaccia
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. > Football
Scaccia, a 24-year-old kicker for the Port St. Lucie Bobcats of the semipro Florida Football Alliance League, booted a 68-yard field goal that is believed to be the second longest in organized-football history—and the longest without a kicking tee. The kick was one yard short of the record set in a 1976 NAIA game.

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WASH. > Basketball
Gelhar, a junior at Saint Martin's, made 78 consecutive free throws this season to set an NCAA all-division record. The streak began on Dec. 18 and lasted until March 7. She finished the season with a .969 free throw percentage (94 for 97), tops in any division.

John Lunardi
EXTON, PA. > Baseball and Football
Lunardi, a senior at Susquehanna, threw a perfect game in the Crusaders' 9--0 win over Drew; at week's end he was 5--1 with an 0.68 ERA, the best in NCAA Division III. Lunardi was also an All-America safety in 2008 and ranked second in passes defended per game (2.1) in Division III.
Sami Zuch
NAPOLEON, OHIO > Swimming
Sami, a junior at Napoleon High, won the state Division II championships in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, defeating the runner-up in each race by three seconds or more. She is the Wildcats' first female state champion in the sport and is the school's record holder in five events.
Allen Huddleston
MERCED, CALIF. > Basketball
Allen, a 6'1" senior point guard at Merced High, was the 2008--09 Central California Conference MVP this season after averaging 31.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 steals. He finished his career with 2,117 points, breaking the school record of 1,707. Huddleston has accepted a scholarship to the University of the Pacific.
