Charlie Buckingham
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. > Sailing
Buckingham, a sophomore skipper at Georgetown, won the Everett B. Morris Trophy as the top collegiate sailor in 2009. A two-time All-America, he helped the Hoyas finish third in both the team and the fleet competitions at the InterCollegiate Sailing Association championships. He is a member of the U.S. sailing team that will compete in World Cup regattas.

Porscha Lucas
PLANO, TEXAS > Track and Field
Lucas, a junior at Texas A&M, won the 200-meter dash (22.81 seconds) at the NCAA Division I championships, finished fourth in the 100 (11.31) and ran the second leg on the winning 4√ó100 relay team, whose time of 42.36 broke a 20-year-old collegiate record. The Aggies won the team title. Lucas has earned 15 All-America honors, the most in school history.

Nicole D'Argento
ASHLAND, MASS. > Softball
Nicole, a senior at Ashland High, finished with a 62--0 career record after throwing her 14th no-hitter to lead the Clockers to their second straight state Division II title. This year she was 25--0 with an 0.28 ERA and led the team in batting average (.703), home runs (13) and RBIs (48). Nicole has committed to Boston College.

Jonathan Tink
WATERLOO, IOWA > Golf
Jonathan, a senior at Waterloo Christian School, was named the state Class 1A player of the year after winning the 1A title for the third season in a row. As in the previous two years, Jonathan led after the first round of the 36-hole tournament. In windy conditions the next day he held off the field and won by two strokes with a seven-over-par total of 151.

Jenny Barringer
OVIEDO, FLA. > Track and Field
Barringer, a senior at Colorado, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in an NCAA-record 9:25.54 at the Division I championships, her third title in the event. She set the American record (9:22.26) when she placed ninth at the 2008 Olympics. This year she also broke collegiate outdoor records in the 1,500 and 5,000, plus indoor marks in the mile, 3,000 and 5,000.

Jace Moore
MOSCOW, KANS. > Baseball and Powerlifting
Jace, a senior at Moscow High, pitched two postseason shutouts, including one in the state Class 2-1A semifinal, to finish the season with a 9--0 record, an 0.29 ERA and 80 strikeouts. He had 33 RBIs and 31 stolen bases. Jace was also the 181-pound champion at the state powerlifting meet, setting an Eight-Man state record in the hang clean with a lift of 315 pounds.
