Sox Appeal
Roy Halladay would be worth three additional wins to any team acquiring him for the stretch drive, making him the CC Sabathia of 2009. While the Phillies are reportedly the leading suitor, the White Sox would do well to make a run at the Jays' ace. G.M. Kenny Williams has an aging contender in a winnable division and a rotation in need of an upgrade. He has prospects, such as lefthander Aaron Poreda and outfielder Jordan Danks (below), to offer Toronto. Most important, Williams has already traded for a big-time starting pitcher this season, only to see Jake Peavy nix the deal he reached with the Padres. Williams has downplayed his chances of getting Halladay, but there's no denying that he has the motivation and means to land him.
