Pulling a FastOne
Jamaica's Usain Bolt eyed the timer as he crossed the finish line in the100-meter final at the world championships in Berlin on Sunday and liked whathe saw: 9.58, which shattered the world record he set at the 2008 Olympics byan astounding .11 of a second (page 16). Tyson Gay of the U.S. was second, andAsafa Powell of Jamaica was third.

Sweed Revenge
Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby (58) and cornerback Bryant McFadden (25)took out some of their frustrations from their Super Bowl XLIII loss onSteelers receiver Limas Sweed last Thursday during a preseason game inPittsburgh. Sweed hung on to the ball and finished with two catches for 56yards. The Steelers won the rematch 20--10.

Wright Wronged
Mets third baseman David Wright took a 94-mph fastball from Giants pitcher MattCain off the ear hole of his helmet last Saturday in New York. Wright, whocrumpled to the ground and lay there for more than a minute, suffered aconcussion; on Sunday he was put on the disabled list, and because ofpostconcussion symptoms he may not return this season. San Francisco won 5--4in 10 innings.

Major Slump
The air seemed to go out of Tiger Woods after he missed an eight-foot birdieputt on the 13th hole in the final round of the PGA Championship on Sunday atHazeltine National in Chaska, Minn. South Korea's Y.E. Yang (left) chipped infor an eagle from 60 feet on the 14th and won by three strokes with aneight-under-par 280, becoming the first Asian-born male golfer to win a majortitle. In another first, Woods lost a major after leading through three rounds(page 36).
