McNamara, a senior at Concordia--St. Paul, was named the AVCA Division IIplayer of the week after averaging 13.23 assists per set to help the No. 1Golden Bears to a 4--0 start, including wins over two top 15 teams. The 2008AVCA Division II national player of the year, McNamara has led the NCAA inassists per set for the last three seasons.

Harvey, a junior at Bingham High, had 189 yards rushing, 111 yards receivingand two touchdowns to help the Miners overcome an eight-point deficit en routeto a 38--34 win over Alta, which had defeated Bingham in the Class 5A titlegame last year. A week earlier he rushed for 111 yards against Viewmont.

Katelyn, a sophomore at Cranston High West, won gold in the U-20 and U-17divisions of the 106-pound class at the Junior U.S. Open. Earlier this summershe won both titles at the USA Judo National Junior Olympics; in April shebecame the youngest U.S. judoka to qualify for a senior world championshipteam.

Bob, a senior at Lake Brantley High, won the Junior Pro Men's Division (92.25points) at the fifth and final stop on the 2009 Pro Wakeboard Tour to becomethe first amateur rider in the division to sweep all five events. In July healso took first in the junior men's division at the Air Nautique WWA WakeboardNational Championships.

Ciufo, a junior at Drexel, had a point-scoring streak of 22 straight gamesafter getting a hat trick in a 3--2 win at Rutgers, then a goal and an assistin a 4--1 win over La Salle; she was named Colonial Athletic Associationco--player of the week. Drexel upset 10th-ranked Duke 4--3 last Saturday, butCiufo did not get a goal or an assist, ending her streak.

PITTSBURGH > Baseball
Heck, a junior righthander at Duquesne, was 6--0 with a 1.79 ERA for the Hays(Kans.) Larks in the Jayhawk Summer League. The all-league selection, autilityman when not pitching, batted .360 and led the Larks in on-base (.450)and slugging (.532) percentage. In the spring Heck led Duquesne with a 3.78 ERAand batted .314.
