Pearson High, won the boys U-16 singles title at theRogers Junior National Championships, taking the final match in three sets.Earlier this year Tennis Canada honored him as the outstanding junior maleathlete of the year. He is currently a member of Canada's Junior Davis Cupteam.

Brecca, a seniorat Minot High, won the Becki Wells Invite (14:57.04) by 30 seconds, then wonthe Minot Invitational (14:41.79). She was ranked No. 1 in the state's mostrecent Division A coaches' poll. As a junior Brecca won the West regioncross-country title and took third at the state meet. She also won the3,200-meter race at the Division A state track meet.

Matthew, a seniortailback at Volcano Vista High, ran for 153 yards, caught a 54-yard touchdownpass and returned a kickoff 64 yards in a 35--22 win over Highland High. Duringhis junior year he set the New Mexico single-game rushing record (382) and went35--0 as a wrestler, winning the Class 4A state title in the 152-pounddivision.

EWA BEACH, HAWAII> Volleyball

Danielson, asophomore outside hitter at Hawaii, was named the Most Outstanding Player ofthe Rainbow Wahine Invitational, finishing with 54 kills, 19 digs and 11blocks. She helped the No. 7 Rainbow Wahine beat Western Michigan, No. 25 SantaClara and No. 9 UCLA to win the title. Danielson was the 2008 Western AthleticConference freshman of the year.

Steinlage, ajunior at Michigan State, set the NCAA record for consecutive shutout minutes(1,165:08) in a scoreless draw with Illinois-Chicago, eclipsing the previousmark of 974:20. He has not allowed a goal in 12 matches, and has ninecomplete-game shutouts during that span. Steinlage led the NCAA in savepercentage in '08 (0.925).

Hillary Dobbs

SUSSEX, N.J.> Equestrian

Dobbs, a seniorat Harvard, won the Nicolock Time Challenge (55.85) at the Hampton ClassicHorse Show one year after becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner in thejumping event's 34-year history. She also won two other grand prix: the VermontSummer Celebration, and the Manchester and the Mountains. Dobbs has representedthe U.S. on five Nations Cup teams.
