Things I Think I Think
SI's fearless NFL expert opines on all the latest news, buzz and inside information. This is just a taste of what you'll get online.
1 I think from the sound of the boos in Oakland on Sunday the locals have had just about enough of JaMarcus Russell (below). His first three series: a three-and-out and two interceptions on deep balls intended for Darrius Heyward-Bey. Russell's 12 completions resulted in a measly 61 yards. I'm starting to think we're watching the second coming of Ryan Leaf.
2 I think Jim Zorn is going nowhere other than to stay on the sideline coaching the Redskins. Washington can't fire the man who's not only their coach but also their quarterbacks teacher and offensive play-caller. And Dan Snyder is hardly about to give his interim head coaching job to defensive boss Greg Blache, whose men gave up 381 yards to the Lions.
3 I think Jim Mora sounds like he'll be bringing in a kicker to challenge Olindo Mare, who missed field goals of 43 and 34 yards, respectively, for the Seahawks on a perfect weather day in Seattle. "No excuses," Coach Mora said. "Absolutely not acceptable."
