What smart fans should do this week

• WATCH

Alabama at Ole Miss

It's a one-sided rivalry—the Crimson Tide has won 45 of the 56 meetings between the teams—but Saturday's game (CBS) has national implications for both. The No. 20 Rebels, who fell out of the top five after being upset by South Carolina, have to take out No. 3 Alabama to bounce back into the BCS picture. Good luck, Ole Miss. The Rebels haven't beaten 'Bama since 2003.

Ironman World Championship

It's called the Ironman, but the most impressive athlete in Hawaii on Saturday will be a woman. England's Chrissie Wellington, 32, is gunning for her third straight world title; she's never lost in six Ironman starts. Wellington set a women's world record (8:31:59) her last time out, in Germany in July. Follow the race at ironman.com.

• WATCH

Patriots at Broncos

The Bill Belichick School of Coaching hasn't produced many esteemed grads (we're talking Messrs. Crennel, Mangini and Weis), but Josh McDaniels might reverse the trend. The former Pats offensive coordinator has the Broncos at 4--0 in his first year as a headman; on Sunday (CBS) he gets to show his crusty mentor (New England is 3--1) how much he learned.

• WATCH

Firestone Indy 300

As the IndyCar Series heads into its season finale, just eight points separate the top three drivers—leader Scott Dixon, second place Dario Franchitti and third place Ryan Briscoe. It's the second-tightest final-week standing in IndyCar history. Still, the smart money is on Dixon, the defending champ who set an IndyCar series record with his 21st career win this year.

DudePerfect.com

So what did you do in school today? If you're one of the six Texas A&M students who call themselves Dude Perfect, you spent hours perfecting a trick basketball shot. Their site features videos of their impressive stunts. (Check out the Ranch Edition clips; maybe that's why Delonte West had that shotgun in his car last month.) Ahh, tuition well spent.

Rice wants people to hear about the Ravens' player development director's courageous battle with ALS. Moreno thinks Quaranta's tale of beating a cocaine addiction is inspiring. As for nominating Whitney for a spot on Oprah's couch, Perry says, "He can babble on about anything."
