Quiggin, a 65-year-old retired computer manager, set two world records in the 60--65 division at the Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic in Orlando, winning the 100-meter freestyle in 59.56 seconds and the 200 in 2:15.39. He also swam the third leg for the 200 freestyle relay team that set a world record (1:49.46) in the 240--279 cumulative age division.
Katherine Boone
KIRKLAND, WASH. > Soccer
Boone, a freshman goalie at Dayton, had her 12th shutout of the season in a 3--0 victory over Xavier to help the Flyers win the Atlantic-10 regular-season title. Through Sunday, Boone, who was named conference defensive player of the year, led NCAA Division I in goals-against average (.223) and ranked third in save percentage (.918).

Devin Gardner
INKSTER, MICH. > Football
Devin, a senior quarterback at Inkster High, passed for 275 yards and three touchdowns, including a 63-yard scoring play with 39 seconds left, in a 36--29 win over Steubenville (Ohio) that snapped the Big Red's 60-game home-win streak and sent Inkster to the playoffs. Devin also rushed for one touchdown in that game.

Anna Johannes
ALEXANDRIA, VA. > Swimming
Anna, a junior at Mount Vernon High, won five gold medals and one silver at the Youth Parapan American Games in Bogota, Colombia. Competing against other arm amputees, Anna, born without her left hand and forearm, won 100-meter races in the freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, plus the 400 freestyle and 200 individual medley.
Brandon McIver
BILLINGS, MONT. > Golf
Brandon, a sophomore at Billings West High, came from one stroke back on the second day of the state Class AA tournament to take the individual title by four strokes (one under par) and help the Golden Bears win their fourth straight state title. Earlier this year he won the 14--15 division of the Montana State Golf Association Junior Championship by 13 strokes.
Katelyn Mallinger
HARTFORD, S.D. > Softball
Katelyn, a senior at West Central High, threw 34 1/3 of her team's 35 innings to help the Trojans go 4--1 and win their fourth consecutive state Class B championship. She had a 0.75 ERA and 38 strikeouts in the five games and also led the team with 10 RBIs. In four state tournaments combined, Katelyn had a 20--2 record, including three no-hitters.
