Johanne Tuttle

Tuttle, a senior at Brevard College, won the women's individual omnium, an all-around competition, for the second straight year to lead the Tornados to the Division II USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships team title. She finished first in four cross, second in downhill, fifth in cross-country and sixth in short track.

Ricky Seale
ESCONDIDO, CALIF. > Football
Ricky, a senior at Escondido High, ran for 404 yards and five touchdowns in a 48--20 win over San Pasqual. Two weeks earlier he broke the San Diego section career rushing record with 210 yards in a 44--24 loss to La Costa Canyon. Ricky has 6,636 career yards entering the playoffs. In '08 he set a section single-season rushing mark (2,679 yards).

Ryan Grimme
GAHANNA, OHIO > Soccer
Ryan, a senior goalie at Gahanna Lincoln High, had four saves, plus two more during a 4--3 shootout, to help the Lions upset top-ranked Ignatius in the state Division I championship game. Ryan finished the season with 19 shutouts and 60 saves and allowed only four goals for his 22-0-1 team.

Amanda Riley
TANNERSVILLE, PA. > Field Hockey
Riley, a sophomore at Bloomsburg University, scored two goals in a 3--2 win over Massachusetts-Lowell in the NCAA Division II championship game, carrying the Huskies to their fourth straight title. She led Division II in points (62) and goals (27) and earned All--Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division honors.
Derek Frenzel
MOSCOW, IDAHO > Swimming
Derek, a senior at Moscow High, won the 100-yard backstroke (54.02) and the 100 butterfly (51.83) at the state championship meet to help the Bears earn their fourth team title in a row. He also swam the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:41.88) and the first leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay, which set a state record (3:18.47).
Sophie Babo
ORONO, MINN. > Soccer
Sophie, a seventh-grade forward at Orono Middle School, scored a hat trick for the Orono High varsity to lead the Spartans to a 5--0 win over The Blake School in the state Class 1A title game, earning all-tournament honors. She also scored the lone goal in a 1--0 quarterfinal win over Rogers. Sophie led the team in points (32) and goals (25).
