Things I Think I Think
SI's fearless NFL expert opines on all the latest news, buzz and inside information. This is just a taste of what you'll get online.
1 I think I loved linebacker Keith Bulluck's back-to-the-future game against Rams quarterback Keith Null. Bulluck (below) had 10 tackles, two interceptions and three passes broken up. The Titans' D played with a ferocity that a defense plays with when it knows the opposing quarterback can't beat it downfield.
2 I think there's a heck of a race for defensive rookie of the year. Buffalo safety Jairus Byrd leads the NFL with nine interceptions, and Houston linebacker Brian Cushing had another monster game on Sunday: 10 tackles, a sack, two other tackles for a loss, three QB pressures. There's also the Packers' Clay Matthews and the Rams' James Laurinaitis to consider.
3 I think several things doomed the Steelers this year: a poor offensive line (made worse by some bad pocket decisions by Ben Roethlisberger), the inability to establish the run and lousy defensive depth. Still, when the epitaph on this season is written, it will blame the offensive line.
