Things I Think I Think

SI's fearless NFL expert opines on all the latest news, buzz and inside information. This is just a taste of what you'll get online.

1 I like a supremely motivated Thomas Jones in Kansas City for $3 million in 2010. Let's be clear, Jones (below) is just what Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles needs: a hard-charging challenger for his job. If both men are healthy for 16 games and playing at their best, Charles will get 60% of the carries. Still, coach Todd Haley is looking to play the best guy, and Jones will push Charles hard to be that guy.

2 I think acquiring Shaun Hill for a seventh-round pick in 2011 is a good deal for Detroit. Not that you want Hill, a good guy and a hard worker, to play a full season, but I trust him to back up Matthew Stafford a lot more than I'd trust Drew Stanton or Daunte Culpepper.

3 I think this is a possible sign that the Dolphins don't plan on playing Chad Pennington much, if at all: He gets a $200,000 bonus for every game in which he takes one or more snaps.
