ALBANY, N.Y. > Track and Field

Kyle, a sophomore at Colonie Central High, won the 200 meters at the Nike indoor nationals (24.26 seconds) one week after winning the 300 at the New York state meet for the second year in a row (38.94). Earlier this season she set a meet record in the 400 (55.43) and anchored the meet-record-setting 4 √ó 200 relay team at the Yale Interscholastic Track Classic.

Ian Fisher

PERRY, OKLA. > Wrestling

Ian, a senior at Perry High, pinned his opponent in 40 seconds to win the 130-pound division at the state Class 3A meet, his fourth individual championship; he helped the Maroons take their 37th team title—a national record—including the last seven straight. Ian finished the season 49--0 and was named outstanding wrestler at the 3A tournament.

Chiney Ogwumike

CYPRESS, TEXAS > Basketball

Chiney, a senior forward at Cy-Fair High, was named the Naismith National High School Girls Player of the Year after leading the Bobcats to a 65--41 win over Hightower in the state Class 5A title game, in which she had 31 points, 18 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Chiney, the tournament MVP, has signed with Stanford.

Jun Han Kim

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA > Swimming

Kim, a sophomore at Drury, won the 200-yard butterfly (1:45.16) and 200 individual medley (1:48.18), and swam the breaststroke leg for the winning 400 medley relay team (3:16.49), helping the Panthers to their sixth consecutive title at the NCAA Division II championship meet. He was named D-II swimmer of the year.

Jessie Diggins

STILLWATER, MINN. > Nordic Skiing

Jessie, a senior at Stillwater Area High, won the girls' state title (31:28.5) after passing defending champion Annie Hart of St. Paul Academy in the final 50 meters to win the pursuit event (consisting of 5K freestyle and classical races) by 1.5 seconds. In winning her third state championship, Jessie also led the Ponies to their second team title in three years.

Nolan Shaheed

PASADENA > Track and Field

Shaheed, a 60-year-old musician, won the 800 (2:14.79) and 1,500 meters (4:36.92) in the men's 60--64 division at the World Masters indoor championships in Kamloops, B.C. A three-time USA Track & Field masters athlete of the year, Shaheed also ran the third leg of the winning 4 √ó 200 relay in the men's 60--99 division.
