Lindsey's Law

A slippery slope, counselor! Skiing's golden girl acts her showbiz dream

Lindsey Vonn is obsessed with Law & Order. The Olympic downhill gold medalist claims to have viewed every episode in the 20-year history of the NBC procedural crime drama. She uploads shows and watches them on airplanes, in far-flung World Cup hotel rooms and even during three-hour stationary bike workouts. Now, as part of her post-Games wish-fulfillment tour, she has climbed into her own iPod with a small supporting role in her favorite show.

Vonn will appear in the May 24 episode (the season ender) of L&O as "Alicia," a high school teacher's assistant who surreptitiously feeds valuable investigative information to detectives Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) and assistant district attorney Connie Rubirosa (Alana de la Garza). Vonn, 25, has several speaking lines in the scene, which was filmed on April 9 in New York City.

"She came in and was very complimentary to all of us, but we were just as starstruck as she was," says de la Garza. "She won the gold, and she's smokin' hot. When it came time to do her scene, she just nailed it."

Says Vonn, "They gave me a script the day before we filmed. I memorized my lines, but I should have memorized everybody else's too. In the first rehearsal Jeremy Sisto is talking, and I just jumped right in before he was finished, and everybody was looking at me like, This is going to be a long day."

Vonn would like to try more acting. "I'd love to do the other Law & Order shows [SVU and Criminal Intent]," she says. She is getting plenty of airtime: On Sunday at the Academy of Country Music Awards she helped present Lady Antebellum with the award for single record of the year.
