Nicole Kelleher

MERCER ISLAND, WASH. > Triathlon

Kelleher, a medical student at Virginia, won the women's USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship (2:03:10). In third after the 750-meter swim and 40K bike ride, she finished two minutes ahead of 2009 titlist Jessica Broderick in the 10K run. Last September, Kelleher, 28, won the women's division of the Nation's Triathlon in Washington, D.C. (2:11:49).

Marquis Dendy

MIDDLETOWN, DEL. > Track and Field

Marquis, a junior at Middletown High, won the high school boys' triple jump at the Penn Relays with the top national mark of the outdoor season (50'10¾"), a Delaware record. The week before, he took first at the Glasgow Invitational (46'8") for the second straight year. Marquis was the state's Division 1 champion in the long jump and triple jump in 2009.

Kara Richard

TECUMSEH, MICH. > Bowling

Kara, a senior at Tecumseh High, rolled a 203 in the state Division 2 team final to help the Indians beat Kearsley High of Flint 1,699--1,692 and win their third straight title. The next day she defeated Kearsley's Lindsey Ploof in two games 396--385 to win the individual championship. Kara was named Michigan's Miss Bowling.

Jack Campbell

PORT HURON, MICH. > Ice Hockey

Jack, a senior at Pioneer High, had 33 saves in goal for the national under-18 team in a 3--1 win over Sweden that gave the U.S. its second straight under-18 world championship. In six games he had three shutouts and a .965 save percentage to earn best goaltender honors. Jack, who was on the 2009 title team, also won gold at the World Junior Championship in January.

Jessica Gehrke

IOWA CITY > Track and Field

Jessica, a senior at West High, successfully defended her high school long jump title at the Drake Relays (18'¼") and anchored the winning 4 √ó 100-meter relay team that set an Iowa record (48.10). She also took second in the 100 meters (12.63). Last fall Jessica was all-state in volleyball for the second straight year and was named MVP of the Class 4A all-tournament team.

Ben Emert

BALL GROUND, GA. > Powerlifting

Ben, a senior at West Forsyth High, won the 206- to 225-pound division at the state championships, helping the Wolverines to a second-place finish. His three-lift total in the bench press, clean and squat (1,370 pounds) was the highest among all athletes at the meet. Ben, who has signed to play football at Wake Forest, rushed for 1,486 yards and 27 touchdowns last fall.
