ON THE NUMBER
Buying Season
June is the ultimate month for selling golf clubs. During that 30-day stretch, when the weather breaks across the country and summer beckons, the combined sales for woods, irons, wedges and putters reaches a peak that represents 13.25% of the annual total. The second-best month is May, and while there's a December spike, it doesn't come close to equaling the late spring. It may be the only way in which that Father's Day trumps Christmas.
