Scored 23 points in a second-round upset of No. 6 Saint Joseph's, making the Vikings the first 14 seed to reach the Sweet 16.

Dismissed from a Cleveland State marketing and sales job in 2003; now partnering in a start-up travel website, Vacaso.com.

Fennis Dembo

Led the No. 12 Cowboys to the Sweet 16 by sinking all 16 of his free throws, tying a tournament record, in a second-round win over No. 4 UCLA.

Enrolled full time at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he is taking summer history classes.

Barry Goheen

Drained two three-pointers in five seconds to send a round of 32 game against No. 2 Pitt into extra time, where the No. 7 Commodores won 80--74.

Practices business litigation at Atlanta's King & Spalding, at which he's been a partner since 2003.

Had his potential game-winner blocked by Alonzo Mourning as No. 1 Georgetown, 50--49 winners, avoided a historic upset bid by the No. 16 Tigers.

Curtis Blair

Contributed 18 points, six assists and three steals as the Spiders became the first No. 15 to upset a two seed, Syracuse.

James Forrest

Freshman hit buzzer-beating three-pointer—his first of the season—to beat USC in round 2. Broadcaster Al McGuire dubbed the shot the Miracle in Milwaukee.

Founded and runs the James Forrest Scholastic and Sports Academy for underprivileged children in Atlanta; coaches his own AAU squad, Team Forrest.

Pete Eisenrich

Led the underdog Broncos against Arizona in round 1 with 19 points, including a jumper with 2:40 remaining that gave Santa Clara the lead for good and the second-ever No. 15 upset of a two seed.

Began a turn in April as senior market strategist for the investment advisory company Curian Capital LLC, in Denver.

Barry Pierce

Ran up 25 points and eight rebounds as the Quakers won their first tournament game in 14 years, a first-round upset of sixth-seeded Nebraska.

Spent the past 11 years in corporate finance, including latest gig as a financial analyst for a small manufacturing outfit in Orange County, Calif.

Scored 35 points in the No. 14 Monarchs' triple-overtime win over No. 3 seed and Big East champ Villanova in the first round.

Following the end of his European basketball career, in 2004, he linked up with the U.S. Postal Service, where he's a supervisor in North Hollywood, Calif.

Cameron Dollar

Two years after inbounding to Tyus Edney, who went coast-to-coast to slay Missouri en route to the '95 title, Dollar was the shooter in a similar play against Iowa State, banking in the winner with two seconds left in OT to send UCLA to the Elite Eight.

After seven years assisting at Washington, begins second year as head coach at Seattle University this fall.

His three at the buzzer, off a hook-and-ladder pass from Bill Jenkins, gave the No. 13 Crusaders an unlikely first-round win over No. 4 Ole Miss.

Associate head coach at his alma mater under father Homer, who's raised a coaching family: Eldest son Scott runs Baylor's basketball program.

Tipped in a missed runner with 4.4 seconds left against No. 6 Florida to earn No. 10 Gonzaga its first Sweet 16. Said Gus Johnson, "The slipper still fits!"

Joined medical manufacturer DeRoyal Industries in April as a senior account rep in the orthopedic soft goods division.

2000

Jon Bryant

Wisconsin

THEN

Averaged 8.2 ppg in the regular season, then won West region MVP, while leading the No. 8 Badgers on a surprising run to the Final Four, capped by his 18-point effort (with five threes) in an Elite Eight win over Purdue.

NOW

Owns TripleThreat Elite Basketball Training, which develops high school and college players in Minneapolis, and works with Wall Street Financial Group as an investment adviser.

2001

Kelyn Block

Indiana State

THEN

In round 1 against No. 4 seed Oklahoma, he lost three teeth in a collision with the Sooners' Hollis Price near the end of regulation, then returned in OT to score five of his 17 points to seal the upset.

NOW

Returned to U.S. after stints playing ball in Europe; now looking for coaching work in Indianapolis after dabbling in retail and debt collection.

2002

Terrell Taylor

THEN

Dropped a career-high 28 points, including a school-record eight threes (among them: the game-winner with 0.2 of a second left) as the No. 12 Blue Jays defeated No. 5 Florida in round 1.

NOW

Single father quit a consulting job at Public Power in Danbury, Conn. (where he runs a sports nonprofit for inner city youths), to pursue a pro hoops career.

2003

Drew Nicholas

THEN

Drained a running three from the wing at the buzzer to save the 2002 champs from a first-round upset by No. 11 UNC Wilmington.

NOW

Finished second season in Greece, where he lead Panathinaikos to a Euroleague crown in '08--09 and a Greek League title in '09--10.

2004

John Lucas III

Led Cowboys with 19 points, including game-winning three with 6.9 seconds left, in an Elite Eight win over No. 1 Saint Joseph's.

NOW

Played two NBA seasons before joining the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks, which are owned by former Rockets teammate Yao Ming, in '09.

2005

Kevin Pittsnogle

W. Virginia

THEN

The three-point-bombing big man (6' 11") was largely responsible for No. 7 WVU's run to the Elite Eight, then scored a game-high 25 points, including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc, before Louisville took over in OT.

NOW

Played briefly with the NBDL's New Mexico Thunderbirds (11.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg) before returning to his native West Virginia, where he's a special education teacher at Martinsburg North Middle School.

2006

Jermaine Wallace

Northwestern State

Rebounded in the corner with five seconds left and nailed a three with half a second on the clock to down No. 3 Iowa and move the No. 14 Demons past round 1 for the first time.

NOW

Works as a soda vendor with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Minden, La., an hour north of his former campus.

2007

Eric Maynor

Virginia Commonwealth

THEN

Scored 22 points in a round 1 upset of No. 6 Duke, including the winning 15-foot jumper over Jon Scheyer with 1.8 seconds left.

NOW

Last season averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 assists as a rookie reserve guard with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

2008

Ty Rogers

Western Kentucky

THEN

His 25-footer at the buzzer beat No. 5 Drake in the first round, creating a momentum that would carry the No. 12 Hilltoppers to the Sweet 16.

NOW

Founded the Sharp Shooters basketball academy in Bowling Green, Ky., near where he works as a pharmaceutical sales rep for AstraZeneca.

2009

Ronald Moore

THEN

Tied No. 8 Ohio State in round 1 with a three-pointer at the end of OT, then sealed the upset with another trey with 3.9 seconds left in double OT.

NOW

Graduated in May with a degree in marketing and management; hoping to catch on with an NBA team through the Summer League.

2010

Ali Farokhmanesh

THEN

Hit a clinching three in the final minute against overall No. 1 Kansas in the Sweet 16, giving the No. 9 Panthers the upset.

NOW

Graduated in May with a finance degree. Nixed a stint playing in his father's native Iran because of passport issues; hopes to play pro ball in Germany.
