Monica Vaughn
REEDSPORT, ORE. > Golf
Monica, a sophomore at Reedsport Community Charter School, won five matches, including an 8 and 6 in the final, to take the Oregon Amateur Championship. At age 15 she is the youngest titlist in the event's 101-year history. One week later Monica won the Oregon Junior Amateur to become one of only three golfers to win both titles in the same year.
Tim Squires
BUCKHANNON, W.VA. > Swimming
Squires, a freshman at West Virginia, won the 100- (51.68) and 50-meter (23.15, a Y record) freestyle at the YMCA long course nationals. At Buckhannon-Upshur High he won the state 100-yard free in his final three years and the 50 in his final two. As a senior, Squires set state meet records in both events and anchored the winning 200 free relay.

Kendell Williams
MARIETTA, GA. > Track and Field
Kendell, a sophomore at Kell High, won the intermediate heptathlon (4,914 points) and the 100- (13.67) and 400-meter hurdles (58.63, the fastest high school time of the year) at the AAU Junior Olympics. Two weeks earlier, at the AAU club championships, she won both hurdles events and the long jump.

Lloyd Chatfield
LIBERTYVILLE, ILL. > Soccer
Lloyd, a freshman forward at Libertyville High, had two assists and two goals in four games—including an assist in the 2--1 final against Crossfire Premier 95 (Wash.)—to lead Eclipse Select to the 14-and-under title at the US Youth Soccer nationals. Lloyd, who was named division MVP of the tournament, led the team with 43 goals in 49 games this season.
Jordan Harbacek
PLAINFIELD, ILL. > Softball
Jordan, an eighth-grader at Aux Sable Middle School, went 7--0 on the mound with a 0.30 ERA to lead the Stone City Sharks to the North American Fastpitch Association 12-and-under A division title. She threw 47 strikeouts in 44 innings and led the team with nine RBIs. For the season she was 44--13 with a 0.73 ERA and a team-high 82 RBIs.

Hunter Cole
SPARTANBURG, S.C. > Baseball
Hunter, a senior at Dorman High, was named MVP of the World Wood Bat Association 17U National Championship after hitting three homers, scoring 11 runs and driving in 10 to lead the Diamond Devils Blue team to an 11--0 record. In the final against FTB Mizuno (Fla.), the third baseman drove in the first run in a 2--1 victory.
