Press, a senior forward at Stanford, scored twice in a 2--1 overtime victory over then No. 23 Georgia and added two assists in a 4--0 win over Pacific to help the No. 2 Cardinal win the Stanford Invitational. In July, playing for the U-23 national team, she scored three times in three games, including in a 1--0 defeat of Sweden, as the U.S. won the Four Nations Tournament in England.
Bradley Marquez
ODESSA, TEXAS > Football
Bradley, a senior running back at Odessa High, rushed for 380 yards and six touchdowns in back-to-back games to help the Bronchos beat Tascosa 47--30 and San Angelo Central 40--27. Through four games Bradley has 1,138 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns. As a junior shortstop he batted .442 and led the team in triples (8) and stolen bases (18).

Chelsea Chenault
WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. > Swimming
Chelsea, a sophomore at Carondelet High, won gold in the 200- (1:58.52) and 400-meter (4:10.79) freestyle races at the Junior Pan Pacific championships, setting a meet record in the latter. She swam the leadoff leg for the winning 4 ... 200 free relay team and the anchor leg for the 4 ... 100 free team, which also set a meet record (3:40.97).

Tracy Rietzke
KANSAS CITY, MO. > Volleyball
Rietzke, in his 23rd season at Rockhurst, became the sixth women's volleyball coach in NCAA history to win 1,000 matches when the Hawks swept Tiffin (Ohio) 25--16, 25--20, 25--12. Through Sunday, Rietzke, who won 172 matches at Kansas Wesleyan from 1982 through '88, had extended his record to 1,009--208. He is second alltime in victories among Division II coaches.

JaMichael Willis
GARDENDALE, ALA. > Football
JaMichael, a junior receiver at Gardendale High, had six touchdown receptions, including two of more than 50 yards, to tie the Alabama single-game record in a 51--26 win over Bessemer City. The week before, in a 14--7 loss to Hewitt-Trussville, he threw a three-yard scoring pass to quarterback Dallas Tidwell. Through four games JaMichael had accounted for 11 touchdowns.
Solomiya Login and Jose Moncada
PHILADELPHIA AND BREA, CALIF. > Racewalking
Login, a 30-year-old high school math teacher and track coach, and Moncada, a junior at La Salle, each won titles at the national 40K championships. The 2008 titlist, Login won the women's race (3:47:52); Moncada beat the four-time defending champion in the men's (3:32:40).
