Pitch Dark Rangers starter Colby Lewis delivered to a Yankees batter during Game 2 of the ALCS in Arlington, Texas, last Saturday (page 45). Lewis went 5 2/3 innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs, to pick up the win in a 7--2 victory that tied the series at 1--1.

Vernon Biever 1923--2010 Vernon Biever (above), who died on Oct. 13 at age 87, became the Packers' official photographer in 1946, five years after he began photographing the players as an 18-year-old freshman at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisc. Over more than six decades Biever took many iconic Packers pictures, including the one at right of tackle Forrest Gregg in the 1960s.
