PIERRE MCGUIRE'S In the Crease

The Sharks and their chief scout, Tim Burke, may have gotten the steal of the 2010 entry draft. Charlie Coyle, an 18-year-old center who was taken by San Jose with the 28th overall pick, just completed a fantastic tournament at the World Junior Championships in Buffalo. A freshman at Boston University, Coyle is a gifted playmaker, and he is not afraid to get physical. It would not be surprising if Coyle left school after one season for the NHL... . The Capitals are loaded with talent, and there's more in their system. They own the rights to forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, 18, whose ability with the puck calls to mind the Red Wings' Pavel Datsyuk; Dmitri Orlov, 19, a slick defenseman who can shoot as well as any player in the NHL; and Cody Eakin, 19, a versatile forward.
