D.J. Gay is the reason No. 6--ranked San Diego State is still undefeated. The Aztecs' front line of Kawhi Leonard, Malcolm Thomas and Billy White is celebrated, but Gay, a 6-foot senior point guard, scored a career-high 30 points in their win at New Mexico last Saturday.... Maryland forward Jordan Williams is stellar—the 6'10" sophomore had 25 points and 14 boards against Villanova—but the Terps' backcourt play is abysmal. Their five guards shot a combined 12 for 34 from the floor (and 2 for 11 from three-point range) in the 74--66 loss to the Wildcats... . There are no great teams. Duke lost at Florida State last week, and Kansas and Ohio State squeaked out home wins over Nebraska and Penn State, respectively. Those are the three best squads in America?
