Micah Mason
NATRONA HEIGHTS, PA. > Basketball
Micah, a junior guard at Highlands High, went 40 for 43, scoring a school-record 64 points in a 101--83 victory over Valley High, the second-highest scoring performance ever in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League. Through Sunday, Micah had seven 40-point-plus games and led the league with 34.6 points per game.
Ashanée Dickerson
JACKSONVILLE > Gymnastics
Dickerson, a Florida sophomore, took top honors in all four events against LSU to collect her 10th all-around title and become the first Gator to sweep a meet since 2000. The SEC's 2010 freshman of the year, she won the floor exercise, vault and balance beam, and tied for first in the uneven bars for a total of 39.475 points out of 40.
Vito Roccoforte
SAN DIEGO > Surfing
Despite a fractured right shoulder, Vito, a senior at Granite Hills High, finished first in the longboard and shortboard events against Claremont to lead the Eagles to their seventh straight win. Vito, who helped the team go undefeated to win the Division IV title last season, is ranked first in the Scholastic Surfing Series longboard division.
Sarah Foss
NORTH READING, MASS. > Ice Hockey
Sarah, a sophomore goalie at St. Mary's of Lynn, had 35 saves in a 4--2 win over Hingham to extend the Spartans' unbeaten streak to 91 games, a national high school girls' hockey record. Sarah, who has eight shutouts among her 11 wins so far this season, helped lead the team to its third straight Division I state title last year.
Ronnie Wardleigh
PLAIN CITY, UTAH > Wrestling
Ronnie, a senior at Fremont High, went 4--0 with three pins to win his second straight Region 1 title in the 119-pound weight class. Earlier this season he was named outstanding wrestler in his weight class at the Richardson Memorial Tournament in Brigham City. A two-time all-state selection, Ronnie was 47--0, with 42 pins, at week's end.
Samantha Lockhart and Matt Armstrong
LANSING, MICH. > Indoor Track and Field
High school sweethearts, Lockhart, a sophomore at Grand Valley State, and Armstrong, a junior, set school shot put records of 49' 2½" and 59' 2¾", respectively, at the Laker Early Bird meet to qualify for D-II NCAAs.
