The four-bag sprint, the first of Victorino's major league career, helped Philadelphia beat the Padres 3--1.

D-3 ANIMATION Stevenson University attackman Neal Barthelme took a leaping shot past Salisbury University defensive midfielder Dean Rossi (44) during the Capital Athletic Conference championship game in Owings Mills, Md., last Saturday. Salisbury goalie Tim Swinburn made a save on the play, and the Sea Gulls, ranked third in Division III men's lacrosse, went on to upset top-ranked Stevenson 16--14 and earn an automatic bid to the D-III NCAA tournament.

BELLY STOP Penguins goalkeeper Brent Johnson (1) lay prone on the ice last Saturday after stopping a shot by Lightning left wing Sean Bergenheim (10) during Game 5 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series in Pittsburgh. Tampa Bay won the game 8--2 to avoid elimination and cut the Penguins' lead in the series to 3--2. Game 6 was played in Tampa on Monday night.
