SUNDAY DRIVER As Celtics forward Paul Pierce lay on the hardwood, Heat guard Dwyane Wade drove upcourt during Game 1 of their second-round Eastern Conference playoff series in Miami on Sunday. The Heat won 99--90 as Wade scored a game-high 38 points, and Pierce was ejected with seven minutes left after being assessed his second technical foul. Game 2 was scheduled for Tuesday in Miami.

EVERYBODY SHOVES RAYMOND Canucks forward Mason Raymond slid into the net on his back after colliding with Predators defenseman Kevin Klein (8) during Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series in Vancouver last Saturday. Nashville forward Joel Ward (29) also went down on the play. The Predators won the game 2--1 in the second overtime to tie the series 1--1. Game 3 was scheduled for Tuesday in Nashville.

STRETCH RUN Hurdlers photographed with a digital scan Lynx finish-line camera appeared to have elongated bodies as they competed in the men's 110-meter hurdles at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia last Saturday. The hurdlers were, from left: Jarret Eaton, who finished first in a time of 13.63 seconds; Tyrell Ross (second, 13.93); Dior Lowery (fifth, 14.56); and Naithan Scott (fourth, 14.51).
