Brooke Urzendowski

OMAHA > Tennis

Brooke, a graduate of Marian High, won the Class A state championships, despite playing with a broken right wrist, for her fourth straight No. 1 singles title. She was voted the girls' senior tennis athlete of the year by the National High School Coaches Association and will compete at Saint Louis University in the fall.

Luis Arias

MILWAUKEE > Boxing

Arias, a junior at Marquette, defeated Kenton Sippio-Cook of Round Rock, Texas, 39--21, in the 165-pound final to complete a five-bout sweep at the Last Chance Qualifier in Cincinnati and to earn the final middleweight berth at the U.S. Olympic team trials. He is a two-time national champion.

Emma Lazaroff

LAFAYETTE, COLO. > Lacrosse

Emma, a senior midfielder at Centaurus High, compiled the highest points total in Colorado (142, on 111 goals and 31 assists) and the third most points per game in the nation (8.41) in leading the Warriors to the state semifinals for the first time in program history. She was named to U.S. Lacrosse's All-America and All-Academic teams.

Sam Mattis

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. > Track and Field

Sam, a senior at East Brunswick High, won the discus at the New Jersey Meet of Champions with a throw of 207'2", the third farthest in the nation this season and a state record for juniors. A week later he won at nationals with a throw of 197'4". In April, Sam set a meet record for U.S. high school boys at the Penn Relays.

Stephanie Pellitteri

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA. > Volleyball

Stephanie, a graduate of Pompano Beach High and a member of the U-21 national training team, won the women's AAA Florida beach volleyball tournament with her sister Kristina. Stephanie is the first athlete to receive a scholarship for sand volleyball, which becomes an NCAA women's sport in 2012, and will compete at Florida State.

Daniel Powers

ORLANDO > Wakeboarding

Daniel, a senior at Lake Highland Prep, won gold in the junior men's division of the Wakeboard World Championships in Milan, Italy. He landed a heel-side 720-degree spin at the end of his run to win and to help the U.S. defeat defending champion Australia. In May, Daniel won the Junior Masters at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
