HOT: GOOD REX
Yup, he's still around. Despite appearing doughy in camp, Grossman carved up the Steelers last Friday, finishing 19 for 26 with 207 yards and a touchdown in a 16--7 Redskins win. Perhaps nobody told Bad Rex the lockout's over.
NOT: POP-LESS ARSENAL
The team is thin on D and just lost its captain, Cesc Fabregas, to Barcelona—all of which made it harder to swallow a scoreless opening draw with lowly Newcastle last Saturday that saw the Gunners' only exciting signee, Gervinho (below), sent off for slapping an opponent.
HOT: WORM'S TURN
Dennis Rodman's HOF speech shined—as did his outfit—last Saturday. Through tears, the rebound specialist earnestly thanked teammates and coaches, apologized to family and asked fans to remember him as "an individual that's very colorful." Done.
NOT: ROCKY MOUNTAIN LOW
The Broncos were edged in their preseason opener by the Cowboys; the Tebow sitch is a mess; and kicker Matt Prater was charged with a DUI after hitting a parked car, police say, while bringing a stripper back to his hotel. Said Prater, "I really messed up."
HOT: DEADLY D-BACKS
Winners of six straight (and 68--53 overall), they're two games up on the reigning champs and sit in the top five of nearly every major NL hitting category. So are they for real? A 10-game East Coast road trip starting this week in Philly should answer that.
